TURF VARIANT: NARA NATIVE ZOYSIA
Nara Native Zoysia has a medium shade-tolerance, is slow growing and has a very high drought tolerance threshold.
This turf variety has vigorous deep rhizomes, enhancing its capacity to withstand drought conditions (as opposed to non rhizome grasses such as Buffalo) with this grass going into a dormant state to survive severe drought.
Nara Native Zoysia is also naturally very salt tolerant, making it a favoured variety for waterfront properties in the Whitsundays and for those lawns that are lucky enough to surround salt water pools.
Admired for its beauty, Nara Native Zoysia is an exquisite lawn that has a fine leafed texture. As the only general-purpose native turf in the marketplace, it is the perfect complement for any native garden or landscape.
As this grass is slow growing, it does require less mowing than Couch or Buffalo turf varieties.
An added bonus of the slow growth is that regular fertilising is only required every three to six months.
To maintain a healthy Zoysia lawn, an annual dethatch is recommended during Spring.
